The International Insurance office at Hospital Clinica Biblica accepts insurance from all over the world. Our dedicated and experienced staff is available to assist you with all your insurance questions regarding benefits and coverage.
All insurance is welcome at Clinica Biblica Hospital. Please stop by our Insurance Office so we can confirm your international benefits. In most cases insurance is accepted only for hospitalizations and not for out patient services. It is most important to stop by the insurance office several days before your admission with your insurance card so we can obtain the proper authorization and benefits prior to your hospitalization. In the case of an emergency please present your insurance card upon admission to verify the benefits. However, you are responsible for paying the admission deposit, if benefits have not been confirmed previous to your admission.

If you are planning to travel abroad and/or interested in purchasing medical insurance please keep the following questions in mind:
- Find out if your medical insurance covers you when travelling abroad and if so what are the conditions and limitations if any.
- Ask about your Co-payments and Deductibles since they may vary when out of network.
- Make sure that your insurance company is willing to make Direct payment to the Hospital in Costa Rica for covered medical services. If your insurance company will not make direct payment to our hospital then you will need to pay your bill up front and then file your claim directly with your insurance company for reimbursement.
- Request Air Ambulance coverage in case of repatriation.
- Make sure your premiums are up to date
- If you have a Gold or Platinum Credit Card, please ask about free travel insurance which may be include when you purchase your air line tickets with your credit card. Please keep in mind that these policies are limited to emergencies and the dollar amount covered.
- If you do not have regular Insurance please do not hesitate to purchase a good Travel Insurance policy, a few dollars could safe you and your family lots of money and headaches in case of illness or injury.
In case of emergency please have handy in your purse or wallet the following information: your insurance card, passport, local and overseas contact numbers including your family doctor.
Make sure you have a major Credit Card handy since a deposit will be required for admission at any hospital, while your insurance benefits are verified.
